Missing Out on Joost

Joost looks really awesome.  Tons of free TV shows streamed on demand.  It’s too bad that their client software isn’t compiled for PowerPC.  :(  I’ve only had my PowerBook G4 for 4 years, but maybe it’s time to upgrade to a MacBook Pro if companies keep leaving PPC users out in the cold.

Its pretty cool, conceptually speaking, but to be honest I haven’t actually done more than play with it in passing since I signed up. We have a hard enough time keeping our DVR cleaned off and in any spare significant amounts of time I/we will watch other things and/or I’ll play poker.

I suppose I could see it coming in handy if you’re bored out of your mind in an airport or somewhere else with internet, but I don’t necessarily see this being an over the top revolutionary way to watch TV or anything.

Now, if all networks who streamed their shows online made them available on Joost (or even if any of the shows in my regular lineup were streamed on Joost), then you’ve piqued my interest. It gives me a new option for watching my favorite shows in one place.

    And yeah…get a MacBook Pro. ;-)
